Kirby Smart, Gary Danielson, social media, react to Alabamaâs, Georgiaâs chances for CFP
“I believe the SEC Champion will be in the College Football Playoff,” Gary Danielson declared with a minute left in No. 8 Alabama’s 27-24 win over No. 1 Georgia on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game.
And the debate begins.
“I think Alabama’s in the playoff,” Danielson said as the clock ran out.
The Crimson Tide (12-1) ended Georgia’s 29-game winning streak with a 27-24 victory over the No. 1 Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game. Even Georgia coach Kirby Smart stated his case after the loss to CBS.
“Well, Bill Hancock said, it’s not the most deserving, it’s the best four teams,” Smart said. “The best four teams out there? I don’t believe any man or woman sitting on that committee doesn’t believe that that’s not one of the best four teams that was No. 1 coming into it.”
