Kid Rock responds to reports his Nashville bar closed to avoid ICE raids
Kid Rock reacted on social media to reports his Nashville bar was shut down earlier this month for a night to avoid an ICE raid.
“Clearly, I do not have anything to do with day to day operations at my Honky Tonk – but it’s good click bait,” he posted on X. “I get it. That being said, I 100 percent support getting illegal criminals out of our country no matter where they are.
“I also, like President (Donald) Trump, want to speed up the process of getting GREAT immigrants into our country – LEGALLY! It’s that simple folks.”
“The Nashville Scene” reported last week that Kid Rock’s “Big A– Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse” closed at about 9:30 p.m. on May 10.
The bar is owned, in part, by Steve Smith, who also owns other Nashville establishments.
“The Scene,” citing an employee source, reported the manager told anyone without legal status to go home, and the kitchen cleared. According to the report, a similar message was delivered at Smith’s other establishments.
On May 14, The Tennessean reported the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement New Orleans Field Office announced a weeklong operation resulted in the arrest of 196 immigrants in Nashville.
“This enforcement effort underscores ICE’s unwavering commitment to public safety and the rule of law. Our officers are focused on identifying and removing individuals who pose a threat to the safety and security of Tennessee residents,” Enforcement and Removal Operations New Orleans Field Office Director Brian Acuna said in a statement. “During the operation I witnessed the men and women of the Tennessee Highway Patrol carry out significant public safety efforts. The New Orleans Field Office is grateful for their support.”
