Kickoff times, TV networks announced for Auburn’s first three football games

Auburn fans should find it a bit easier to start planning their first trips to Jordan-Hare Stadium as kickoff times for the Tigers’ first three games of the season were announced by the SEC on Thursday afternoon.

Year 2 of the Hugh Freeze era at Auburn is set to get underway on Aug. 31 as Auburn hosts Alabama A&M in a game that’s set for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff and will air on ESPN+.

When the Alabama A&M Bulldogs come to The Plains for the Tigers’ season opener, it’ll mark just the third meeting between the two programs with the last being in 2016 and the first coming in 2012. Auburn owns a 2-0 record against Alabama A&M.

Come Sept. 7, the Cal Golden Bears will make their way east to tie up a home-and-home agreement with Auburn after the Tigers traveled to Berkeley last season. Cal’s visit to Auburn will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN2.

The Tigers won a wacky, low-scoring affair over the Bears last September in what was the first meeting between the two programs.

On Sept. 14, Auburn will celebrate homecoming with a matchup against New Mexico in a game that will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU.

When the New Mexico Lobos come to Jordan-Hare Stadium to take on the Tigers in Week 3, it’ll mark the first meeting between the two programs.

The kickoff times for Auburn’s nine remaining regular season games will be released at a later date.
