UAB’s first three football games of the 2023 season will be played “under the lights,” it was announced Wednesday.

The Blazers open the season on Aug. 31, a Thursday, vs. North Carolina A&T at Protective Stadium. That game kicks off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed via ESPN+.

UAB is at Georgia Southern on Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. on ESPN+. The Blazers then return home on Sept. 16 against Louisiana at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

The only other kickoff time announced for UAB thus far is the game vs. Navy on Nov. 11, which is Veterans Day. That game is set for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS Sports Network.

The Blazers make their debut as an American Athletic Conference program in 2023, which is also the first season for head coach Trent Dilfer. UAB went 7-6 last season as a member of Conference USA.

Other kickoff times and television information will be released at a later date.
