Kickoff time, TV channel announced for Alabama vs. Mississippi State
The SEC announced the kickoff time and TV network for Alabama football’s Sept. 30 matchup at Mississippi State on Monday. The game will be played at 8 p.m. that Saturday and will be aired on ESPN.
It will be Alabama’s first game played in that time slot this season.
Mississippi State is in a season of transition following the death of head coach Mike Leach. He was replaced by former defensive coordinator Zach Arnett.
The Bulldogs have started the season 2-1 with wins over Southeastern Louisiana and Arizona. The start to SEC play last week did not go well for MSU, with LSU jackhammering the Bulldogs in a 41-14 drubbing.
The game will Alabama’s second straight against a team from Mississippi. Ole Miss comes to Tuscaloosa Saturday, with that matchup scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. and airing on CBS.
The Tide opens SEC play on Saturday fresh off a sloppy 17-3 win at South Florida. The Mississippi State game will be Alabama’s first road game of SEC play.
The Bulldogs haven’t won a game in the series since 2008. Alabama won 30-6 last season in Tuscaloosa and 49-9 last time the game was played in Starkville, during the 2021 season.
