College Football Week 6 Kentucky vs. Georgia preview and odds

Devin Leary was Kentucky’s top transfer coming into the 2023 season. The former NC State QB has been superb, throwing for 1,129 yards and 10 touchdowns, but another transfer stole the show last week vs. No. 22 Florida.

Ray Davis had the game of a lifetime, rushing for 280 yards and scoring four total touchdowns. Davis’ monster day earned him the spot as college football’s top rusher through five games, edging out second-best Cody Schrader by 129 yards.

Stellar performances are needed from Davis and Leary in Week 6, considering the Bulldogs allow an SEC-best 13 points per game. Kentucky’s defense will also have its hands full with Brock Bowers, who had consecutive breakout games in the last two weeks.

Bowers tallied 17 receptions for 278 yards and three touchdowns vs. UAB and Auburn. Limiting the future NFL Draft first-rounder will be critical for the Wildcats on Saturday.

Best Kentucky vs. Georgia player props and odds: Devin Leary 200+ passing yards (+130 or better)

Leary has eclipsed 200 passing yards in four of the Wildcats’ five games this season. The only time he fell short of that mark was last week vs. Florida due to Davis’ unforgettable day, not because Leary was struggling.

Kentucky has five players with over 100 receiving yards, giving Leary multiple high-level options when he drops back to sling it. Mark Stoops will look to Leary to shoulder the offensive workload if Davis and the Wildcats’ rushing attack is stifled by the Dawgs’ defense.

Best Kentucky vs. Georgia game props and odds: Georgia under 30.5 points (-105 or better)

The Bulldogs average an eye-popping 38 points per game but reached that impressive number by beating up an FCS school and two G5 squads. In two meetings with SEC foes, Georgia scored 24 and 27 points and now faces a solid Wildcats’ defense.

Kentucky has 14 sacks and nine forced turnovers, and Carson Beck had only one interception against Auburn last week but threw a few more passes that should’ve resulted in picks. Step one for Kentucky is forcing the ball away from Bowers, and step two is making Beck uncomfortable in the pocket.

If the Wildcats achieve those goals, the Bulldogs won’t light up the scoreboard.
