Kentucky man with AR-15 shoots cars in Alabama Waffle House parking lot, police say
Decatur police say a Kentucky man fired multiple shots at vehicles in a Waffle House parking lot Saturday morning with an AR-15-style rifle.
The incident happened at about 2:55 a.m. in the area of 2015 Beltline Road S.W. Police were in the area on another call when they heard gunshots and saw a dark colored vehicle leaving the scene.
Demond Crumbaugh, 20, of Paducah, Ky., was in the vehicle, and was in possession of the firearm, police said.
Investigators say Crumbaugh was involved in an altercation with another man at Waffle House. During the altercation, shots were fired and three vehicles were struck. One of the vehicles was occupied at the time it was struck. There were no reported injuries.
Crumbaugh has been charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and two counts of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $10,000 bond.
