Kay Ivey’s Game Plan will bring more industrial sites, Birmingham Business Alliance says
Birmingham has potential to boom as a result of four economic growth bills, known as the Game Plan, that were recently signed into law by Gov. Kay Ivey according to the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) and Sen. Rodger Smitherman, D-Birmingham.
“The Governor’s Game Plan is a game changer that will continue to bolster strong job creation in our state,” said BBA spokesperson Karla Khodanian. “With these policies, we firmly believe that the Greater Birmingham Region will emerge as a leading hub where businesses and talent can thrive.
“These bills will serve as the primary tool for our state’s job recruitment efforts over the next five years, helping us attract the best and brightest from around the world.”
Birmingham’s industrial sites, both present and future, have potential to benefit from one of the four bills in particular, the Site Evaluation and Economic Development Strategy (SEEDS) Act according to Khodanian.
This act would allow the State Industrial Development Authority to issue grants to support the development of industry-ready sites according to the governor’s website.
