Katie Britt on Fox News: Children should not ‘be indoctrinated with woke ideology’

Katie Britt, the Republican candidate in Alabama’s U.S. Senate election, discussed education, inflation and crime during an interview this morning with Fox News.

Britt, appearing on “America’s Newsroom” with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino, said children should be “educated and not indoctrinated.”

“We want them to be taught the fundamentals,” Britt said. “We want them to be taught to love this nation, to stand for the flag, be taught history, be taught math, be taught reading, not to be indoctrinated with woke ideology.”

Britt also expressed concern over Alabama being down seven points in math and five points in reading in recent NAEP scores. She also draws a connection between drug usage and how it affects the classroom.

Britt also described Biden’s management of Southern border as poor.

Britt claims it is “open season” for human trafficking, terrorism and drug cartels. Under Joe Biden, “the country we know and love is dissolving.”

Drug use, according to Britt, has a heavy influence on the quality of education in the state.

“We are looking at the effects of fentanyl as we know under Joe Biden. Every state has become a border state,” she said.

“When you look at the drugs pouring over our border that have made it not only into our communities but into our classrooms.”

On inflation, Britt believes Democratic leaders “deflect” when it comes to discussing the topic. She thinks energy independence and dominance as a nation will help change the narrative for Alabamians.

Britt also commented on the results of the last presidential election, voicing that there was fraud involved but not theft.

“People have to have faith that their vote counts. We can’t allow for people to not use voter ID. Alabama does it well,” she said.

“We have to go by the laws on the books so that people know their vote counts. If we don’t, our democracy will crumble.”

Britt faces Democrat Will Boyd in the Nov. 8 general election.
