Republican Katie Britt, widely considered the overwhelming favorite to win Alabama’s open U.S. Senate race next month, maintains an overwhelming fundraising lead over her Democratic opponent.

Britt has almost $1.9 million in cash as of the latest reporting deadline of Sept. 30. Democratic nominee Will Boyd reported having $8,260.

Britt and Boyd are vying for the seat held by retiring Sen. Richard Shelby. The election is Nov. 8.

Altogether, Britt has raised more than $9.8 million since launching her campaign in June 2021.

“I am blown away by the generous, enthusiastic support we’re receiving from hardworking families who love our state and our country,” Britt said in a statement Monday. “It is clear that the closer Nov. 8 gets, the more our message is resonating. Americans are getting crushed by the unchecked consequences of one-party Democratic rule in Washington, D.C. and Alabamians are eager to make our voices heard at the ballot box. We are going to continue working hard every single day these next three weeks to secure victory and do our part to retake the U.S. Senate. Together with our incredible Team Britt supporters, we will preserve the American Dream for our children and our children’s children.”

Over the last three months, Britt has raised more than $1.1 million while Boyd has raised more than $50,800. For the duration of his campaign, Boyd has raised $99,388, according to campaign finance records.

Britt has spent more than $8.3 million in her campaign and Boyd has spent more than $97,000.

Britt has been endorsed by Shelby as well as Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville and former President Donald Trump along with a host of associations and organizations in Alabama. Boyd lists endorsements from the Alabama New South Alliance and the Alabama Democratic Conference on his website.
