Katie Britt endorses Tommy Tuberville for Alabama governor

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt has endorsed her Senate colleague Tommy Tuberville for governor.

“From strengthening K-12 education and modernizing workforce development to growing good-paying jobs and investing in local infrastructure, we share the mission of putting Alabama First,” Britt said in a statement released by Tuberville’s campaign.

Tuberville ended months of speculation in May when he announced he would run for governor instead of reelection to the Senate.

Britt’s endorsement is the latest sign of Tuberville’s status as the frontrunner.

“I am grateful to be endorsed by my friend and colleague, Senator Katie Britt,” said Coach Tuberville.

“Katie and I have been fighting for Alabama every day over the past several years in the Senate, and I know we will continue working together when I’m back home in Montgomery.

“Together, we will make sure Alabama is not just a great place to live, but the very best place to call home.”

Both senators posted the endorsement on X.

Ken McFeeters is the only other announced Republican in the race.

McFeeters, 65, lives in Pelham and runs an insurance agency that he founded with his brother in 1981.

Will Boyd, pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, is running for the Democratic nomination.

The primary is May 19, 2026.
