Karen Read returns to court for second trial, here’s how to watch live coverage

Karen Read, a 45-year-old woman accused of murdering her boyfriend, former Boston police officer John O’Keefe, is returning to court for her second trial on Tuesday, April 22.

Opening statements for the highly publicized trial will begin tomorrow, but Read is no stranger to the courtroom as her first trial ended with a hung jury just last summer.

Read is facing several charges including manslaughter while under the influence, fleeing the scene of an accident and second-degree murder. The charges come after Read’s boyfriend O’Keefe was found deceased in the snow outside of Boston police officer Brian Albert’s home in Canton after a night out with Read and some of his friends.

The prosecution and its witnesses argue that an intoxicated Read hit O’Keefe with her SUV and fled the scene afterwards.

Recently, Investigation Discovery released A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read, documenting the behind-the-scenes of Read and her legal team as they prepared for her first trial. Those who caught the limited time series were also clued into the specifics of the case.
