Kareem Jackson comes up for Buffalo Bills’ playoff game

Kareem Jackson has played in 205 NFL regular-season games, the fourth-most among Alabama alumni. On Sunday, Jackson will have the opportunity to play in his 10th NFL postseason game, which would make him the 22nd former Crimson Tide player to reach double digits in playoff appearances.

Jackson became eligible to play on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills elevated the defensive back from their practice squad to active status on Saturday. The Bills play the Denver Broncos at noon CST Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo in an AFC first-round game.

Jackson played for the Broncos across the previous five seasons.

Jackson spent this season on the Bills’ practice squad and was elevated to active status twice during the regular season. In those two games, he was on the field for 32 defensive snaps and 27 special-teams plays.

Also elevated on Saturday was former Buckhorn High School standout Khari Blasingame. The Philadelphia Eagles will have the fullback available for their NFC first-round game against the Green Bay Packers at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Blasingame played in two games for the Chicago Bears this season before being released on Oct. 25. Picked up by Philadelphia for its practice squad on Dec. 3, Blasingame was elevated for two regular-season games. He was on the field for two offensive snaps and 50 special-teams plays in those two games.
