‘Karate Kid’ star apologizes for biting ‘Cobra Kai’ costar in contentious video

Martin Kove apologized in a statement after biting his “Cobra Kai” costar, Alicia Hannah-Kim, at a fan event on Sunday.

“I deeply regret and apologize for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia (Hannah-Kim), a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn’t deserve to be put in this position,” Kove said in a statement obtained by “Entertainment Weekly.” “I’ve always respected her and considered her a highly professional and talented co-worker on ‘Cobra Kai.’

“I was being playful in the moment but went too far and there is absolutely no excuse for my behavior. I regret my actions for which I take full responsibility for what I did, and again I apologize to her and her husband. I’m committed to learning from this and it will never happen again.”

According to the report, the two were at an autograph event at the Washington State Summer Con in Puyallup, Washington, on Sunday. Police were called to the scene.

NBC 4 in Los Angeles obtained body cam footage of the dispute once authorities intervened.

Hannah-Kim, 42, per NBC 4, found a police officer working the VIP section to report the incident. The police report said there was a “very easy to see bite mark” on her arm that was turning blue and starting to bruise.

“I walked past Martin Kove, tapped him on the shoulder and said hello, and he turned around grabbed my arm and BIT DOWN HARD almost drawing blood,” Hannah-Kim wrote in a handwritten statement to police, reviewed by EW. “I yelped and drew back and then he grabbed my arm again to kiss it.”

The actress, who informed her husband of the incident, said she had “had visible teeth marks and immediate bruising and pain.” “We approached Martin in the green room later (30 mins) and he was furious & outraged and visibly angry when I told him calmly not to bite me,” her statement read. “He insisted he bit me for fun.”

Hannah-Kim declined to press charges, and Kove instead was escorted from the venue.
