Kansas knocks Oklahoma from ranks of unbeatens, 38-33

Devin Neal’s 9-yard touchdown run with 55 seconds left gave Kansas a 38-33 victory over No. 6 Oklahoma on Saturday, knocking the Sooners from the ranks of the unbeatens.

Kansas (6-2, 3-2 Big 12) led much of the day, before Oklahoma (7-1, 4-1) took the lead at 33-31 on Dillon Gabriel’s 1-yard run with 5:22 to play. The Jayhawks drove 80 yards in seven plays, however, with Jason Bean’s 37-yard pass to Lawrence Arnold on fourth-and-8 keeping the drive alive and setting up Neal’s touchdown run.

Oklahoma got to the Kansas 27 after Gabriel’s 39-yard pass to Brenon Thompson, but Kansas’ Kwinton Lassiter a pass intended for Austin Stogner on the final play. It was the Jayhawks’ first win over the Sooners since 1997.

Oklahoma’s loss leaves five unbeaten Power 5 conference teams — Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State and Washington. From the Group of 5 ranks, Air Force, James Madison and Liberty also remain undefeated.
