Juvenile turns himself in for shooting death of teen at Alabama barbecue restaurant
A young man is facing murder charges after turning himself into Decatur police for a shooting that took place over the weekend.
Around 12:12 a.m. on Saturday, officers arrived at Nash BBQ at 104 12th Avenue Northwest to investigate reports of a shooting, according to a previous release from the department.
Upon arrival, officers located Deshaun Labraunt Lewis, 18, suffering from gunshot wounds.
The teen was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The suspect turned himself in to the Decatur Police Department today at around 9:40 a.m., according to another release.
No other identifying information can be disclosed due to the defendant’s age, according to police.
“The defendant is accused of the above crime and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” the release reads.
