Juvenile is 3rd suspect charged in fatal shooting of Montgomery 17-year-old
A juvenile has been charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Montgomery.
The suspect is the third person charged with capital murder in the slaying of Zaveon Simpkins.
Montgomery police Sgt. Tina McGriff said the young male was taken into custody Wednesday. Authorities are not releasing his name and age.
Police previously announced the arrests of brothers Christopher Kelly, 19, and Christian Kelly, 18.
The shooting happened just before 7:15 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the 3600 block of Madolyn Lane.
Details surrounding the incident have not yet been made public.
Charging documents state Simpkins was killed while being robbed of $500 and an iPhone 12.
All of the suspect remain held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
