A juvenile is dead after they were shot Monday afternoon in Eufaula, police said.

Officers received a call of shots fired near Spruce Circle in Eufaula around 2:27 p.m. Monday, said Chief Danny Christ.

The victim, who was not publicly identified, was taken to Medical Center Barbour, where they died of a gunshot wound, the chief said.

Police were still gathering information and processing evidence, said Christ, who added he would release more information as the investigation moves forward.

The shooting appeared to be an isolated incident, he said.
