Judge dismisses contraband case against Mobile County jailer

A Mobile County jailer charged with promoting prison contraband had her case dismissed by a judge during her preliminary hearing Wednesday, according to court records.

Mobile County District Court Judge Zack Moore did not find probable cause that Kimberly Henderson smuggled a cell phone into Mobile County Metro Jail, records showed.

Henderson began working as a corrections officer at the jail in 2016, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.

The criminal complaint that charged Henderson with promoting prison contraband alleged that the cell phone “may be useful for escape” by an inmate.
