Jacksonville Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Allen and Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy won Player of the Week awards for the final week of the NFL’s 2022 regular season, the league announced on Wednesday.

A former All-State wide receiver at Abbeville High School, Allen won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award after the Jaguars captured the AFC South title by beating the Tennessee Titans 20-16 on Saturday.

A former Alabama All-American, Jeudy won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week Award after the Broncos closed their season with a 31-28 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Allen made six tackles, recorded one tackle for loss, registered two quarterback hits, forced one fumble and returned a fumble recovery 37 yards for the game-deciding touchdown with 2:51 left to play. The touchdown was the first for Allen in his four NFL seasons.

The AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award was the second for Allen. He also earned the honor for Week 9 of the 2021 season.

Jeudy caught five passes for 157 yards and ran for 39 yards on three carries for the Broncos as he had the more receiving yards and more yards from scrimmage than any other NFL player in Week 18, reaching career highs in both stats.

Jeudy’s Sunday output surpassed the 140 yards on five receptions that he had in a 32-31 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Jan. 3, 2021, when he caught a 92-yard touchdown pass.

Jeudy had three rushing attempts for 4 yards in his NFL career before Sunday. His Sunday runs included a 12-yard carry for a first down to help the Broncos run out the final 3:14 of the game.

Jeudy is the third former Alabama wide receiver to earn a Player of the Week Award, joining four-time winner Julio Jones and three-time winner Amari Cooper.

The other award winners for Week 18 of the 2022 season were Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams, NFC Offensive; Seattle Seahawks safety Quadre Diggs, NFC Defensive; Buffalo Bills running back Nyheim Hines, AFC Special Teams; and Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott, NFC Special Teams.
