John Wick’s Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne remember Lance Reddick
Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne remembered the late Lance Reddick, their co-star in “John Wick: Chapter 4.
Reddick died unexpectedly last week, and the actors honored their co-star at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
“We lost our brother, and in a really sort of very shocking way,” Fishburne said. “I think we’re all still in shock. “Life is hard sometimes.”
Blue ribbons were worn to honor Reddick, who starred in “The Wire” and “John Wick.”
“Just to be in his light and to get a chance to work with him, I’ll cherish for the rest of my life,” Reeves said. “He had such a passion for his work and his craft. He was gracious. He had a dignity to him and a presence.”
Reddick, 60, died Friday in Los Angeles of natural causes, his publicist Mia Hansen said. No further details were provided.
Reddick is best known for his role as Lt. Cedric Daniels on the hit HBO show “The Wire.” Reddick also appeared as Irv Iving on “Bosch” and had roles in Fox’s “Fringe,” “Angel Has Fallen” and “Godzilla vs. Kong.”
TMZ reported that Reddick’s body was discovered at his Studio City home Friday morning.
The actor died of natural causes, his rep Mia Hansen said in a statement to USA TODAY Friday.
“Lance will be greatly missed,” Hansen said.
