John Cena reacts to WWE’s move to ESPN
John Cena is more than pumped after hearing the news Wednesday about ESPN becoming the exclusive home of all WWE Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, starting in 2026.
“Proud would be an understatement,” the wrestling star posted on social media. “This landmark partnership represents an exciting future for WWE as a flagship member of the ESPN family. Cannot wait to see what the world of sports entertainment looks like on ESPN.”
Earlier in the day, it was announced the rights agreement includes a number of ESPN platforms, including the new ESPN direct-to-consumer streaming service.
The ESPN direct-to-consumer streaming service will stream all WWE Premium Live Events annually, in their entirety, with select simulcasting on ESPN linear platforms.
“WWE’s agreement with ESPN is a pivotal moment for our millions of fans across the United States: the leader in sports entertainment partnering with the biggest brand in sports media,” WWE President Nick Khan’s statement read in a release. “Bringing WWE’s flagship events to ESPN’s platform is tremendously exciting. We know the sky is the limit.”
