Joe Namath headlines list of honorary captains for Alabama football in 2024

Alabama football will play host to a handful of former players throughout the 2024 season to act as honorary captains.

Joe Namath, Antonio Langham and Shaun Alexander headline a group of 16 former players who will serve in honorary captain roles this fall, per the Paul W. Bryant Museum.

Namath, Gaylon McCollough and Jackie Sherrill will be the three former players for the Georgia game on Sept. 28, the biggest game of the season at Bryant-Denny Stadium and perhaps in all of college football.

The captains, outside of Namath, will sign autographs while in town at the Bryant Museum for one hour. Fans can bring up to two items for autographs.

Each honorary captain is also expected to take part in the coin toss on the field before the game.

Here’s the lineup of honorary captains for this fall.
