Jeremy Allen White of âThe Bearâ to take breathalyzer tests, attend AA under custody agreement
“The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White will have to undergo breathalyzer tests five days a week and attend regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in order to spend time with his two daughters, following his estranged wife Addison Timlin filing for divorce earlier this year.
As part of the former couple’s joint custody agreement regarding Ezer, 4, and Dolores, 2, the Emmy nominee has agreed to undergo Soberlink testing on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, per court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
If any alcohol is detected, a test is deemed either positive or noncompliant. The latter designation can also be given to a test in which White’s identity is declined or not verified by Soberlink’s facial recognition software, according to the documents.
In either case, both actors’ lawyers would meet within a week of said test to decide the next steps for custodial time, the outlet reports.
The agreement accounts for the possibility that White — who’s currently afforded custody at least four days each week — could have had “accidental exposure” to alcohol, such as mouthwash.
“If there is a positive test, Soberlink considers the first test to be a screening test and will prompt [White] to retest in 15 minutes,” the documents note. “Positive tests will only result in non-compliance if the first positive test is verified with a missed or positive retest.”
As part of the agreement, the 32-year-old actor must attend weekly therapy as well as a minimum of two AA meetings, for which Timlin can request proof.
White and Timlin met in 2008 and wed in 2019, but separated last fall, according to divorce documents. Though the couple are still on good terms, a source told ET that their breakup was due to “trust issues.”
“They were attempting to work things out, but things became increasingly difficult for them, and they decided to split,” the insider revealed.
