Jelly Roll shows support at CMAs for recently arrested country music star
Jelly Roll, sitting next to wife, Bunnie XO, made a statement during the CMAs without saying a word.
The country music star, rocking a grey shirt, had a patch on the shirt of a guitar with Jamey Johnson’s name across it.
Johnson, of course, was arrested on speeding and drug charges in Tennessee on Sunday.
Melonie Cannon, a backup singer for Johnson, got a screen grab of the moment during the broadcast and shared it on social media.
Johnson, of course, performed a tribute to George Strait during the show.
Johnson, 49, was arrested for drug possession and speeding in Williamson County, Tennessee, on Sunday. The arrest took place just more than a week after the release of his first album in 14 years, “Midnight Gasoline.”
He posted a $5,000 bond before he got out of jail Monday.
“We can confirm that Jamey Johnson was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 17 in Williamson County. The incident is still under investigation,” the Tennessee Highway Patrol wrote in a statement.
