Jefferson County sheriffâs deputy jailed on domestic violence charges
A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Wednesday morning on domestic violence charges.
Deputy Brandon Gurley, 33, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 4:13 a.m. He is charged with interference with a domestic violence emergency call and third-degree domestic violence harassment.
His bond is set at $12,000.
Details of the allegations against Gurley have not yet been made public. The incident happened in the Bessemer area in Thursday’s early morning hours.
Gurley joined the sheriff’s office in 2020. It was not immediately clear if he has been placed on leave following his arrest.
