District 1 Jefferson County Commissioner Lashunda Scales has made it her mission to ensure equal opportunity for every city within not only her district, but the entire county.

As the county looks to refinance their historic 2011 debt this year, Scales said her focus as public works chair is to get the best deal for ratepayers.

For sure! You’ve got quite a long list of involvement on the commission website but for public works specifically, a lot of people want to know about the sewer debt situation. So, what approach would you say the committee is taking to handle Jefferson County’s sewer debt and what is that going to look like in the future?
