Jeff Graba, Auburn gymnastics officially welcome decorated recruiting class
Head coach Jeff Graba and Auburn gymnastics officially announced five additions to the Tigers’ 2025 squad as Olivia Ahern, Sophia Bell, Anna Flynn Cashion, Katelyn Jong and Marissa Neal have all inked their letters of intent, the program announced Friday.
Ahern comes to Auburn by was of Memphis, where she competes with Believe Gymnastics. There, she qualified for the Develop Program National Championship four times, finished fourth on beam in 2022 and third on vault in the 2021 national meet and is a two-time Region 8 all-around and floor champion. Ahern also boasts a gold medal-winning floor routine from the 2020 Gymnix International Elite.
“Olivia brings a rare combination of grace and power to the Plains,” Graba said. “She has successfully competed at many of the highest level meets in the U.S. and will bring a dynamic presence on all the events.”
Joining Ahern is Bell, a native of Blue Springs, Mo., who competes with Xtreme Gymnastics and Fort Osage High School. Bell is a three-time Development Program National Championship qualifier, a three-time Region 4 floor and bars champion a two-time Region 4 vault and all-around champion and has also won a combined five Missouri State titles in floor and all-around.
“Sophia is a highly decorated Level 10 gymnast and has attended our camps on numerous occasions,” Graba said. “Her work ethic and love for the sport is second to none. She is an extremely powerful gymnast and will look to help our team on every event from the very beginning.”
Cashion joins the Tigers by way of Cornelius, N.C., where she competed with Everest Gymnastics. Her time with her club team has seen her qualify for the Development Program National Championship three times, win the Region 8 bars championship in 2022 and notch a top-10 finish at the 2022 National Championship on bars.
“Anna Fynn is an all-around gymnast and will push to compete on every event for us,” said Graba. “She possesses one of the best vaults and most dynamic bar routines in the country at Level 10 and will be an asset from day one.”
Meanwhile, Jong comes to Auburn as the most decorated recruit of the cycle after competing with the 2023 U.S. National Team. A native of Allen, Texas and member of Metroplex Gymnastics, Jong finished fifth on bars and sixth all-around at the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, while also coming in fifth in all-around at the 2023 Core Hydration Classic.
In 2022, Jong finished fifth on beam at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, following up a 2021 season that saw her win a national title in the all-around.
“Katelyn is coming to Auburn with a tremendous amount of international experience,” Grabba said. “She just finished competing for the U.S. at the Pan Am Games and we are excited that she will bring this valuable, high-level experience to our team. She is throwing some of the most difficult gymnastics skills in the world and excels on every event.”
Rounding out Graba’s 2025 haul is Neal, who like Bell, comes out of Blue Springs, where she trains with Great American Gymnastics Express as an elite-level gymnast who competed in the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championship and the Core Hydration Classic.
During the 2023 U.S. Championships, Neal secured a pair of top-15 finishes in beam and on floor. Neal also finished eighth in beam in the 2022 U.S. Championships. Neal also competed at the 2021 Development Program National Championships, where she finished second on beam.
“Marissa has competed at the highest levels of the elite scene in the U.S. and her gymnastics displays a tremendous amount of skill and beauty,” Graba said. “She does not have a weak event and will be a treat to watch for our fans.”
