Jeff Foxworthy to appear in Alabama in spring 2024
Southern standup superstar Jeff Foxworthy will appear at the Ozark Civic Center Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m., along with Sammy Gilbreath on the “Learning to Live Like You’re Dying” tour. Gilbreath, an inspirational speaker and author from Florence, is former director of evangelism for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. The tour is named after his memoir, published in 2022.
The March 14 show will also feature musical guest Hunter Clark Band. Tickets cost $5. All proceeds go to Vivian B. Adams School in Ozark, a nonprofit that offers services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Gilbreath said on Facebook you can purchase tickets at the door of the Oxford Civic Center on the night of the show. However, he added that advance tickets should be available online soon. The Ozark Civic Center is located at 320 East College Street. The 16,000-square-foot venue has a seating capacity of 3,600 depending on the event.
Born in Atlanta, Foxworthy is a popular standup comedian best known for his catchphrase “You might be a redneck” and his role in the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” along with Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall and Ron White.
Foxworthy has released six comedy albums, the first two of which achieved triple Platinum status.
He has also written several books based on his jokes, as well as his autobiography “No Shirt, No Shoes … No Problem!” Foxworthy also starred on a 1990s sitcom “The Jeff Foxworthy Show” and hosted game shows “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” and “The American Bible Challenge.”
Foxworthy has been public about his Christian faith. He once told CBN he attends multiple Bible studies per week and further expanded on his relationship with religion and comedy. “I think when God breathes His attributes into us, humor was one of them, especially with me,” he said. “I mean, I have to be able to laugh at myself, because I do some really dumb things, but I think God loves that.” Read the full interview.
Foxworthy is a massive Georgia Bulldogs fan, even appearing as celebrity guest picker on ESPN “College GameDay” in 2021 during UGA’s first national title run under head coach Kirby Smart. Foxworthy’s daughter attended Auburn University.
