JD Crowe: Alabama campus protesters on both sides agree: ‘F— Joe Biden’
This is an opinion cartoon.
A rare moment of political unity happened among demonstrators last week in Tuscaloosa.
Unlike the protests that turned nasty in Columbia and UCLA, the University of Alabama protesters remained peaceful. Sure, there were cheers that turned into jeers and “derisive comments,” according to the student newspaper, The Crimson White. That’s to be expected.

“But there was one more thing,” writes William Kristol of The Bulwark. “The most striking moment—which you can see in a video posted to social media by Crimson White editor Maven Navarro—was when, late Wednesday afternoon, the protesters and counter-protesters reached across the aisle and found common ground. In a fleeting moment of agreement and common purpose, the two sides joined together in a chant.
“The chant? “F — Joe Biden.”
Ol’ Joe has always been a uniter.
As Kristol points out in his Bulwark column, Biden should “embrace the situation” and “explain that the center is the right place to be.” I think he’s right.
Campus pro-Palestinian anti-Israel demonstrators on the left. Trump MAGA counter-protesters on the right. Most Americans are stuck in the middle.
With Joe Biden.
