Jax State football will play at Louisville in 2024
Jacksonville State will play a non-conference football game at Louisville next season, it was announced Wednesday.
The Gamecocks will travel to L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium to face the Cardinals on Sept. 7, 2024. The game replaces one at San Jose State that was canceled by the Spartans due to a scheduling conflict.
The meeting with Louisville — a member of the ACC — will be the first between the two programs. The Gamecocks played at South Carolina of the SEC this past weekend, losing 38-28.
Jax State also has 2024 non-conference games at Eastern Michigan and at home vs. Coastal Carolina and Southern Miss. The Gamecocks will travel to Hattiesburg to face the Golden Eagles in 2025.
Jax State is 7-3 this season, its first as an FBS program and as a member of Conference USA. The Gamecocks have an open date this week before finishing up at home vs. Louisiana Tech on Nov. 18 and at New Mexico State on Nov. 25.
