A Jasper man was killed in a head-on crash in Walker County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Mathew B. Geeslin. He was 26.

The wreck happened at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday on Alabama 195, about seven miles north of Jasper.

Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said Geeslin was driving a Honda Accord that collided head on with a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 driven by 56-year-old Phillip T. Dobbins, also of Jasper.

Geeslin was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Dobbins was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
