Jason Isbell-Brittany Howard: Get tickets for Alabama singer-songwriters ‘In Conversation’
Fans of Alabama-born singer-songwriters Brittany Howard and Jason Isbell will be able to hear what’s behind their storytelling when they are honored in Huntsville in August.
The show, called “Brittany Howard and Jason Isbell: In Conversation,” is not a concert but a celebration of the two Grammy-winning artists as they are named Alabama Humanities Fellows.
At the time of this writing, tickets are available for $50 at Ticketmaster | $61 at SeatGeek | $61 at StubHub |$98 at TicketEventsCenter.
The event features an in-depth conversation with Howard, who was born in Athens, Ala., and Isbell, of Green Hill, Ala. “The duo will be recognized … for their powerful storytelling – that challenges us all to think, to empathize, and to explore what it means to be human,” a press release says.
Huntsville, Ala.: Mark C. Smith Concert Hall
The event will be Aug. 26 at Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala. It benefits the Alabama Humanities Alliance, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization that provides public humanities programming statewide.
Howard began her career as lead singer for the Alabama Shakes, a group that won four Grammys. She released her debut solo album Jaime in 2019, for which she won another Grammy for Best Rock Song for “Stay High.” Her album “What Now” was released in February 2024.
Isbell is a solo artist and has also worked with the band The 400 Unit and the Drive-By Truckers. He has won six Grammys. Isbell is also an actor, appearing in the TV shows “Squidbillies” and “Billions” and films such as “Deadwood: The Movie” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
