Jasmine Crockett’s ‘Governor Hot Wheels’ remark shows Democrats have ‘nothing to sell but hate,’ Abbott says

Dallas-area Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s mocking of Texas’ paraplegic governor as “Governor Hot Wheels” is emblematic of why Democrats are losing elections, according to Greg Abbott.

“It’s another day and another disaster by the Democrats,” said Abbott, who has used a wheelchair since 1984 after a tree fell on him while he was jogging, during an appearance Tuesday night on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

“The reality is they have no vision, no policy, they have nothing to sell but hate and Americans aren’t buying it,” the 67-year-old Texas governor continued. “With comments like this by Democrats we will leave them in the dust in future elections.”

Crockett was speaking at a Human Rights Campaign event Saturday in Los Angeles when she referenced Abbott.

“Y’all know we got Gov. Hot Wheels down there, come on now,” the Democratic congresswoman told the crowd. “And the only thing hot about him is he is a hot ass mess, honey.”

Crockett tweeted that she was referring to Abbott’s immigration policies, not mocking the Texas governor’s condition.

“I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition—I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable. Literally, the next line I said was that he was a ‘Hot A** Mess,’ referencing his terrible policies,” the congresswoman stated.

Crockett then called out those offended by her remarks but not those made by President Donald Trump.

“At no point did I mention or allude to his condition. So, I’m even more appalled that the very people who unequivocally support Trump—a man known for racially insensitive nicknames and mocking those with disabilities—are now outraged.”

Sean Hannity said he did not believe the congresswoman’s explanation.

“There’s no way in hell that this woman and her ex-post is gonna convince me she meant anything other than what we all believe it to be,” the Fox News host said.

Crockett is facing possible censure in the Republican-led House.

Texas Rep. Andy Weber is leading the effort.

“The story of our great governor of Texas is one of unwavering resilience and perseverance,” Weber told Fox News Digital. “Meanwhile, the actions of Jasmine Crockett – stooping to vile levels of discrimination and despicable political attacks – are nothing short of reprehensible.”
