Jarin Stevenson makes decision for 2025-26 season

Jarin Stevenson won’t be part of the Alabama men’s basketball roster for a third consecutive season.

Stevenson, who started 22 of 37 games this past season, will enter the transfer portal, according to reports Wednesday by 247 Sports, The Athletic and On3. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Stevenson has a “do not contact” tag in the portal, an indication he already has a destination in mind.

Stevenson, a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, reclassified and joined the Crimson Tide a year early for the 2023-24 season. He played in 37 games and started five. His most notable game occurred in the Elite Eight when he scored 19 points, making five triples, to beat Clemson and secure Alabama’s spot in its first ever Final Four.

Then this past season, Stevenson averaged 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.6 blocks over 18.7 minutes per game. He shot 30.7% from beyond the arc, a slight dip from his 31.7% in his freshman season.

Stevenson joins Mouhamed Dioubate and Naas Cunningham as Alabama players entering the transfer portal after a season that ended in the Elite Eight in 2025 with a loss to Duke. Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Clifford Omoruyi and Chris Youngblood also exhausted their eligibility. So more than half the roster will be different in 2025-26.

So far, a number of players have agreed to stay for another season. That includes Aiden Sherrell, Aden Holloway, Latrell Wrightsell Jr. and Houston Mallette.

The transfer portal has also already provided a handful of players to the Crimson Tide including: Noah Williamson (Bucknell), Taylor Bol Bowen (Florida State) and Jalil Bethea (Miami).

Alabama will also add three freshmen: London Jemison, Davion Hannah and Amari Allen.
