James Clemens beats Bob Jones in Madison Bowl

MADISON – James Clemens earned another victory in the Madison Bowl, knocking off city rival Bob Jones 40-13 as the Jets earned a fifth win over the Patriots in the last six seasons.

The Jets led 19-6 at half on touchdowns from Ty Marsh, Devin Cooper and Ty Doughty. Doughty also returned a punt 44 yards in the third quarter to increase their lead to 26-6.

The Jets got another touchdown from Cooper later in the second half, and Doughty closed out the scoring with a 66-yard run to put the game away.

Bob Jones has allowed at least 35 points in all three games this season and has lost five in a row dating back to last season.

Did you know?: Bob Jones won the first six games in the series from 2012-17, but has won just once since.

What’s next?: James Clemens (2-1, 1-0 in Class 7A, Region 4) will host Huntsville next week, and Bob Jones (0-3, 0-1) will be at Grissom.
