Jalen Tolbert scores his first touchdown for Cowboys
Dallas wide receiver Jalen Tolbert scored his first NFL touchdown on Sunday in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tolbert caught a 7-yard pass from quarterback Dak Prescott as Dallas cut Philadelphia’s lead to 28-23 with 6:23 left to play.
A third-round draft choice from South Alabama in 2022, Tolbert had two receptions for 12 yards as a rookie and entered Sunday’s game with seven receptions for 71 yards in 2023. The touchdown reception gave Tolbert three receptions for 49 yards against the Eagles.
Tolbert caught 82 passes for 1,474 yards and eight touchdowns at South Alabama in 2021, when he received the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year Award. Tolbert improved his stats as a senior even though he had 64 receptions for 1,085 yards and eight touchdowns in 2020.
Tolbert was a three-sport standout at Mobile’s McGill-Toolen and helped the Yellow Jackets win the AHSAA Class 7A football championship in 2015.
