Jalen Milroe to the Steelers? Here’s what the Alabama QB thinks
Jalen Milroe has drawn the interest of the Pittsburgh Steelers. To what extent, we’ll find out during the NFL Draft in April.
Milroe was among Alabama players who went to dinner with Steelers brass Tuesday night prior to the Crimson Tide’s pro day Wednesday. Among Steelers folks in town included head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan.
Pittsburgh needs a quarterback. There’s not a long-term answer in the Steel City right now. Could Milroe be that guy?
Here’s what he said about the possibility of joining the Steelers.
“Now I have the opportunity to be around Coach Tomlin, I don’t take it lightly at all,” Milroe said. “If the opportunity presents itself for me to be his quarterback, I’ll take full advantage of it.”
Milroe said the best part of the process has been getting to know people around organizations, the Steelers included.
“During that time frame, it’s so important to build a relationship No. 1 and also talk ball,” Milroe said. “I just thought it was a great opportunity to build with the Steelers and have that opportunity. I remember watching the AFC North and the battles they had growing up.”
With Tomlin and the Steelers brass watching, Milroe ran the 40-yard dash as well as threw to receivers. Alabama announced Milroe’s unoffical time to be 4.37.
“A lot of people wanted me to run. … I gave everybody what they wanted,” Milroe said. “My goal was to get in the 4.3s. So goal completed. And secondly, be able to show out at pro day
