Jalen Hurts to buy air-conditioners for 10 schools
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will fund air-conditioners for 10 schools with a donation of $200,000, the School District of Philadelphia announced on Thursday.
The PhillyVoice reported the district said the air-conditioners would be used at schools that had previously been included in early dismissals of students on hot days.
Superintendent Tony B. Watlington and the former Alabama standout will announce the gift officially at a press conference on Friday morning, the PhillyVoice reported.
Hurts is preparing for his fourth season as Philadelphia’s starting quarterback.
After Hurts finished as the runner-up for the 2022 NFL Most Valuable Player Award and the Eagles reached Super Bowl LVII, the NFL team signed the quarterback to a $255 million contract extension designed to keep him in Philadelphia through the 2028 season.
