Jahmyr Gibbs fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs finished fourth in the voting for The Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award for the 2023 season.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud won the award, which was presented on Thursday night during the NFL Honors ceremonies in Las Vegas.

Stroud received 48 first-place votes and two second-place votes from the AP panel of media members for 246 points (with first-place votes worth five points, second-place three points and third-place one point).

Gibbs had four points for four third-place votes.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua finished second with 154 points for two first-place and 48 second-place votes.

Detroit tight end Sam LaPorta finished third with 40 third-place votes.

Also receiving votes were Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, who got three third-place votes, and wide receivers Zay Flowers of the Baltimore Ravens, Jayden Reed of the Green Bay Packers and Rashee Rice of the Kansas City Chiefs, who got one third-place vote apiece.

Selected from Alabama with the 12th choice in the 2023 NFL Draft, Gibbs ran for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns on 182 carries and caught 52 passes for 316 yard and one touchdown in 15 regular-season games. He then scored a touchdown in each of the Lions’ three playoff games.
