Jacksonville State lands 2025 commitment from 3-star Georgia high school running back
Jacksonville State landed the commitment of one of the top running back prospects in Georgia on Tuesday.
Lucas Farrington of Walton (Ga.) High School in Marietta, Georgia, announced his commitment to play college football for Rich Rodriguez at Jax State.
Farrington, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound back, is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals, being the ninth-graded running back prospect in the state of Georgia.
He earned Power Four offers from programs that include Arkansas, Missouri, Miami, Louisville, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Duke; in-state programs UAB and Troy also extended offers to the running back.
According to MaxPreps, the running back carried the ball 147 times for 836 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns for Walton, also hauling in 20 receptions for 322 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Walton advanced to the GHSA AAAAAA playoffs, but fell to Valdosta in the first round.
Farrington will also reunite with former teammate Wyatt Sonderman, who is a freshman wide receiver with the Gamecocks.
He will add to a 2025 recruiting class that includes the following:
