Jacksonville State basketball lands commitment from JUCO forward standout

Jacksonville State landed the commitment of former Eastern Florida State forward Emondrek Erkins-Ford on Thursday, adding to its list of signees for next season.

The 6-foot-9, 215-pound forward just finished his sophomore season at NJCAA Division I Eastern Florida State.

Erkins-Ford started 26 games for Eastern Florida State last season and averaged 15.6 points and 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

The forward shot 159-for-273 (58.2%) from the field last season and was an all-league pick by the Florida College System Activities Association.

He helped lead Eastern Florida State to a 23-7 record before falling in the quarterfinals of the FCSAA tournament.

Other offseason additions for Jax State include former Alabama A&M guard AC Bryant and former East Carolina forward Bencao Vungo.
