Jackson County man dragged neighbor out of his house, fired gun, robbed him, authorities say
Jackson County authorities have charged a man with first degree robbery after they say he forced his way into a neighbor’s home.
The incident happened Tuesday at about noon, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a home on County Road 778 in Pisgah on a reported robbery.
According to investigators, Jimmy Peek Jr., 49, of Pisgah, went to a neighbor’s residence and forced his way into the home. He then assaulted a 65-year-old man, firing a gun near him, and dragged him outside.
Authorities say Peek took several items from the victim, including his wallet and a portable radio.
Peek was transported to the Jackson County Jail and is being held on $100,000 bond. The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries.
