It must be the shoes: Jalen Hurts changes cleats

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts started Super Bowl LVII wearing a pair of Jordan 11 player-exclusive cleats. But by the time the former Alabama QB had helped the Eagles take a 24-14 halftime lead against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Hurts had Jordan 1 PE on his feet.

FOX Sports reported Hurts switched from a one-half-inch to a three-quarter-inch cleat during the first half.

After scoring on a 1-yard quarterback sneak to cap Philadelphia’s 11-play, 75-yard opening possession, Hurts slipped slightly later in the first quarter as he tried to take off on a quarterback keeper from one of the logos painted on the playing surface at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Hurts came back in his longer cleats and threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver A.J. Brown and ran 4 yards for another touchdown as the Eagles took a 24-14 lead into halftime.

In the first half, Hurts completed 17-of-22 passes for 183 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and ran 11 times for 63 yards and two touchdowns. He also lost a fumble that Kansas City linebacker Nick Bolton returned 36 yards for a touchdown.
