Is Walmart open on Easter 2023? Store hours, more
Easter is big business this year. And if you need a few last-minute items, you’ll be happy to know Walmart is open for Easter.
According to the National Retail Federation, holiday spending is expected to reach a new high this year – $24 billion by the 81% of Americans who say they are celebrating.
Spending is expected to grow across several categories, with food ($7.3 billion), gifts ($3.8 billion) and candy ($3.3 billion) topping the list. Consumers are also expected to spend $4 billion on clothing, $1.8 billion on flowers and $1.7 billion on decorations, along with $1.1 billion on greeting cards.
“We are seeing real Easter sales growth compared with pre-pandemic, and among the drivers are consumers who are planning to purchase more Easter clothing and gifts,” Prosper Executive Vice President of Strategy Phil Rist said in a NRF release. “Additionally, consumers ages 35 to 44 will bump up their spending more than any other group.”
The most popular Easter Sunday activities this year include cooking a holiday meal (56%), visiting family and friends (50%), going to church (43%) or planning an Easter egg hunt (34%).
If you’re one of those who are cooking or getting ready for an Easter celebration, you can shop at Walmart on Sunday. Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer is open regular hours on Easter, generally 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Some services like auto centers or pharmacies could have a different schedule, so always check ahead.
