Is that Rosa Parks on underwear? ‘White Lotus’ star draws strong reactions with Met Gala look

Did Civil Rights icon Rosa Parks get a nod in a surprising, and what many are calling disrespectful, way via “The White Lotus” star Lisa’s underwear — you read that right — at the 2025 Met Gala?

K-Pop Star Lisa Manobal, a member of Blackpink who also portrayed Mook on the third season of HBO’s “The White Lotus,” turned heads and made headlines with her attire at this year’s Met Gala, the 28-year-old’s first, after seemingly wearing a Louis Vuitton lace bodysuit adorned with the face of Alabama icon and Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks.

This year’s Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,”of aimed to “explore the importance of style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, particularly in the United States and Europe,” according to the event’s website.

The design was created by artist Henry Taylor after being commissioned by Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2024 show, according to People. The lace portraits are said to depict “figures who have been a part of the artist’s life,” but it is not known if Rosa Parks is among them.

That hasn’t stopped the internet from reacting to the assumption that the image is of Rosa Parks, with “Rosa Parks underwear” already trending by Monday evening. The response has been mostly negative, according to Yahoo! News, with many calling the look disrespectful, though some feel it could help a new generation learn more about the activist.

Lisa herself has yet to comment on the look or the reactions it has garnered.
