Investigation ongoing after man found dead on Crenshaw County roadway; public’s help sought

Investigators are asking for information from the public after a man found critically injured on a Crenshaw County roadway.

Sheriff’s deputies responded Sept. 14 to the 19000 block of Andalusia Highway on a report of a man lying in the road.

Authorities identified him as Joseph Cody Wayne Williamson, 25, of Andalusia.

Williamson was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released a cause and manner of death.

Investigators say the investigation is ongoing and details are limited at this time. A reward is available through Central Alabama Crime Stoppers.
