Inked: 5-star Foley wide receiver Perry Thompson signs letter of intent with Auburn
Perry Thompson, a 5-star wide receiver out of Foley High School, is the most recent player to officially join Auburn’s 2024 signing class.
Thompson, who has been committed to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers since July 29, signed his name on the dotted line of his national letter of intent Wednesday, becoming the sixth high school recruit of the early signing period to send over his paperwork to Auburn.
In his senior season at Foley, Thompson hauled in 53 receptions for 718 yards and seven touchdowns. Thompson added another 102 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown in 2023.

Measuring 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds, Thompson ranks as the seventh-best wide receiver in the country and the fourth-ranked prospect out of the state of Alabama, according to 247Sports.
Before committing to Freeze and the Tigers during Big Cat Weekend in July, Thompson had spent more than a year committed to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Thompson also held offers from Miami, Tennessee and Troy, among others.
With the addition of Thompson, barring any changes to the current roster or prospective roster, Auburn’s 2024 wide receiver room is set to feature Camden Brown, Caleb Burton III, 4-star Bryce Cain, 5-star Cam Coleman, Jay Fair, Ja’Varrius Johnson, Georgia State transfer Robert Lewis, Koy Moore and 4-star Malcolm Simmons.
