Inked: 4-star offensive lineman DeAndre Carter signs letter of intent with Auburn
DeAndre Carter, a 4-star offensive lineman out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif., is the most recent player to officially join Auburn’s 2024 signing class.
Carter, who has been committed to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers since Sept. 12, signed his name on the dotted line of his national letter of intent Wednesday, becoming the fifth high school recruit of the early signing period to send over his paperwork to Auburn.
Measuring 6-foot-4 and 340 pounds, Carter ranks as the third-best interior offensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting cycle and is the 11th-best prospect to come out of the state of California, regardless of position, according to 247Sports.
Carter committed to the Tigers in September after visiting Auburn in late July. Throughout his recruitment, Carter also garnered offers from the likes of Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, USC and Washington, among others.
With the addition of Carter, barring any changes to Auburn’s current or prospective roster, the Tigers’ 2024 offensive line room is set to include Carter, EJ Harris, Tate Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Bradyn Joiner, Connor Lew, Izavion Miller, Jaden Muskrat, Dylan Senda, Dillon Wade, Clay Wedin, JUCO prospect Seth Wilfred and Jeremiah Wright.
