Inked: 4-star edge rusher Jamonta Waller signs letter of intent with Auburn

Jamonta Waller, a 4-star wide receiver out of Picayune Memorial High School out of Picayune, Miss., is the most recent player to officially join Auburn’s 2024 signing class.

Waller, who has been committed to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers since Nov. 11, signed his name on the dotted line of his national letter of intent on Wednesday. He is the best pure pass rusher of the program’s class in the early signing period.

In his senior season with the Picayune Maroon Tide, Waller tallied 69 total tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, 21 quarterback hurries and two caused fumbles.

Measuring 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, Waller ranks as the No.1 prospect out of the state of Mississippi and the fifth-best edge rusher in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Before committing to Auburn, Waller spent nearly five months committed to the Florida Gators. Waller was also recruited by the likes of Alabama, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas A&M and others.

With the addition of Waller, barring any changes to the current roster or prospective roster, Auburn’s room of edge rushers in 2024 is set to include Jalen McLeod, 4-star Joseph Phillips, Waller and Brenton Williams.
